Board is comprised of leading figures in energy, industry, critical minerals and food systems

Sao Paolo, 28 October 2025

Just Climate, the investment business established by Generation Investment Management to scale solutions for the highest-emitting, most off-track sectors of the economy, announced the new composition of its Latin America Advisory Board. The group brings together prominent leaders in energy, industry, critical minerals and food systems — core areas of its regional strategy.

The Advisory Board will now be chaired by Paula Kovarsky, an executive with a strong track record in biofuels, low-carbon agriculture, industry, capital markets and corporate governance. Ms. Kovarsky has held leadership roles at Cosan, Raízen, and Itaú BBA and currently serves as Co-Chair of SBCOP30.

Joining her on the board as co-chairs are Britaldo Soares, a veteran of the power sector, former CEO of AES in Brazil, Chairman of the Board at Enel São Paulo, and of ABRADEE (the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors). He also brings significant agribusiness experience, having served as a board member at Copersucar, Zilor, Atiaia Renováveis, Frigol and Órigo Energia; and Albano Chagas Vieira, one of the most prominent figures in Brazilian steel sector, former CEO of Votorantim Siderurgia, with senior roles at CSN, Arcelor Flat Europe, ThyssenKrupp CSA and Usiminas, where he contributed decisively to industrial modernisation and institutional strengthening of the sector.

The following members will continue serving on the Advisory Board: Paulo Hartung, Executive President of the Brazilian Tree Industry and former Governor of Espírito Santo; Pedro Fernandes, Director of Agribusiness at Itaú BBA; and Marcos Jank, researcher, senior professor, and a recognised agribusiness leader in both national and international arenas.

This further strengthening of the Advisory Board comes at a strategic moment for Just Climate, as it advances its Latin America investment strategy. As part of this effort, the firm signed an MOU with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB Invest) to collaborate on the strategy and is working for IDB Invest to join as a founding investor.

By expanding access to capital and expertise, Just Climate aims to catalyse investments and accelerate climate transformation across the region.
